Job Description

Perform in house and customer site support activities involving the repair, installation, preventive and corrective maintenance of electrical/electronic equipment used for power conversion in the renewable energy field. Monitor and verify the performance and required maintenance of assigned customer equipment.

Responsibilities

– Technical support for sales

– 2nd Level customer support

– Assist customers in the configuration of their photovoltaic projects

– Customer training and information courses

– Collect technical competitive intelligence through customer interaction, discussions with sales/service teams and from other sources and feed back to product development group

– Produce cost/performance analysis of various system configurations

– Source components and materials supplies for solar power systems

– Work with suppliers to customize key components for cost reduction or performance enhancements in the context of our proprietary system designs

Skills

– Strong verbal and written communication skills to communicate with and maintain effective relationships with customers

– Electrical engineering or systems technician with electrical engineering know how

– Ideally 1-3 years of industrial field service experience with DC power conversion and control experience. Knowledge of mechanical principles, electronics and AC/DC power and ideally PV system design

– Ability to work with AC and DC electricity, and use associated test equipment: voltmeter, clamp meter, power quality meter

– Communication system knowledge (serial, ethernet, wireless)
